Willing and Ready My name is Claire Wilkison, I'm 24 and I have a love for education that cannot be ignored. I'm persistent, driven and passionate about the work I do. My teaching philosophy states, "Teaching is an art that can only be performed by those who believe in cooperative learning, a diverse environment and that with laughter comes learning."
I grew up in a small town called Liberty Hill, TX about 30 miles south of Austin. I grew up on 5 acres of land with 4 basset hounds and 2 other siblings. My childhood was great but I grew up knowing about the importance of working hard and volunteering in the community. There is a long line of teachers within my family and I hope to aspire to be as good of an educator as they were. In 2012, I went on a journey through Tarleton State University where I graduated with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-6 in December of 2015. While at Tarleton, I observed and taught in a variety of grade levels at several different school districts. It was at Dublin Elementary where my life changed. I was placed in a Title 1 school where I was responsible of assisting and teaching to about 100 3rd grade students. The experience was unforgettable and the children will forever be in my heart. From Tarleton State I moved to Waco, Texas where I have currently been teaching 1st grade at Crestview Elementary. My current projects that i'm working on at my school are listed in the next few tabs. If you have any questions about my work, please feel free to contact me. |
